Description
Made without yeast, these quick cherry buns borrow some of the best features of cinnamon rolls — fluffy dough; gooey filling; generous swoosh of cream cheese frosting — but in a fraction of the time. Their texture, more reminiscent of cakey biscuits than yeasted rolls, is all their own. Fresh sour cherries, which are only available for a few weeks each summer, provide the red-pink color and tangy, tart flavor. If you can't find fresh sour cherries, frozen sour cherries will do the trick.
