Description
A well-loved Sicilian dessert, Chocolate Cassata Cake is often served at Easter. In the traditional version, the layers are a light-texture chocolate sponge cake stuffed with a boozy rum-ricotta filling. Inspired by the idea of the original, we've created this variation of chocolate cassata that layers a deeply chocolate loaf cake with creamy, sweetened ricotta. The filling is studded with chocolate chips for a bit of crunch, and the entire layered cake is covered in a generous swath of silky fudge frosting.
