Striking the perfect balance between light and decadent, tiramisu is a classic dessert of espresso-soaked cake layered with a sweetened, creamy mascarpone filling. While ladyfingers are commonly the “cake” layer of choice, we've found that using a sponge cake makes this recipe easier and quicker to assemble, while also providing a higher cake-to-filling ratio. Be sure to use all the soak to generously saturate the cake layers, and your tiramisu is all but guaranteed to impress.
