Yusheng (or yee sang) is a raw fish salad eaten in Malaysia and Singapore for the Lunar New Year. Raw salmon, pomelo, thin strips of vegetables like carrot and radish, peanuts and sesame seeds, and a plum sauce dressing are tossed together by those eating the dish as a way to invite good fortune for the upcoming year.
